It happens to all traders. As traders we need plans and systems. This video illustrates a prime learning lesson that all traders need to understand. Today was the day after the July 4th weekend, so I knew going in I would have to be extra picky about any trades. Today got off to a great start as there were some very volatile stocks that I was able to capatilize on. There is something for everyone. All it took was two ticker symbols and I was off to a very good start. All I can do is sit back, laugh at myself, and hope you learn something from it. This morning was quite the mixed bag of results. Despite the illusion of constantly big profits in small amounts of time that some traders out there like to try and create, this video, while not the most exciting, gives the cold hard truth: sometimes you are going to have sessions such as this. With technical analysis at my side, I went to battle with TSRO and tried to slay the dragon. The opportunities presented themselves so I took advantage with my system and was able to lock in some nice and quick profits. In this video, I am attempting to build up larger size positions in the stocks I am trading. Several stocks were making some nice moves this morning which allowed me to make numerous trades.
All it took this morning trading the stock market was a single ticker symbol. This is now the second day in a row where I made some boneheaded logistical errors, and while I fully accept responsibility, I also need to acknowledge the videos are getting a bit burdensome. That simply is not the truth. This video shows my third ever options trade. After that, the action slowed down a little and I let impatience get the best of me which ended up costing me a very nice potential profit. The valuable lesson here is to not force trades and allow the market to come to you, which as you will see, worked out nicely. Better than nothing I suppose.
The market moved too quick for me and it resulted in me taking a larger loss of money then what I was planning for. This live trade video shows me building a decent size position, although, I would have liked to have built it even biger before the price moved in my direction. Thanks to the great trading tool of technical analysis, I was able to capture some of the trade opportunities. Due to some other things on the schedule this Monday morning, I limited myself to the opening 30 minutes to trade. Wow did I come out of the opening gates with a bang! Today was one of those mornings for me. Thanks to a badly timed customer service call, I was not able to trade the opening 20 minutes which caused me to miss some solid trades. Nothing too fancy here. Given it was a Friday morning and I had pulled some profits out of the market, i was happy to call it a day and end my week.

After a three day weekend, I felt a tad rusty and made a couple minor errors, but overall, it was a solid day to get back into the saddle. The title says it all for this video. Overall, this was a pretty bad morning. This was a weird morning. Cut the postion loose and move onto a new trade and wipe away the loss of money. JWN bit me twice and took away from the profits. Slow Morning, then BOOM! Memorial Day Weekend, and I knew the volume would dry up. While it wasnt anything huge, its always nice for the confidence level to start in the green. Yes, trying to talk and make a video adds a degree of difficulty; however, no one is forcing me to do these videos, so I have no one to blame other then myself.
Nothing like being your own boss and working from home making money online. As annoying as it can be, when you are a trader trading the markets, not every day can be a massive hit. Blocking out the distractions and keep an eye on the charts and level 2s, I was still able to pull some profits from the market. How did I do from that point forward? Today was a solid day all the way around. As nice as trading technology is, sometimes it can be a pain in your side. In todays video, my daughter was sitting in my lap during the opening minutes. Trading just requires a bit more patience and understanding of the market in order to pull profits from it. Some mornings you can pick up a quick few hundred dollars without even blinking an eye; however, that is not how it is all the time.

That was the case this morning as I focused in on NBIX and went long for each of my trades, something I rarely do. This was not the most preferable way to start off a Monday morning, but hey, it happens. With that being said, I do not let my losers get out of control. Today started very quickly as I got a very nice fill from the market.
After a four day weekend, I always feel a bit rusty, so my main focus was just slowly getting back into the groove with all trade plans I put together. PYPL, I was able to get off to a quick start. Losing money is never fun. Overall, I was very happy with the stock market trades I made; however, there was some goofy things going on with my platform, so it was a pretty interesting morning in that regard. Sometimes all you need is a single stock and it will provide you with all the opportunities you seek. Thanks to some stocks getting overextended in the morning, I was able to short my way to some nice little profits. My trading, while profitable, could have been much more profitable, but as you will see, I had no other choice.
The markets were a bit better than yesterday mornings opening session; however, it is still very evident we are in the middle of Summer. This morning I wanted to go for a bit bigger score, so I outlined my plan on the video. With earnings season in full effect, I knew GPRO was going to have an exciting opening session. This morning was not the most exciting and profitable bit of trading; however, it did provide some valuable lessons, including the importance of following your trade plan. Today you will see I just struggled, but better yet, the loss of money I took turned out to be a very HEALTHY loss of money. As you will see, I identified some bearish momentum and then jumped on the train to see if my analysis was right or wrong. Some mornings can be very annoying as none of your order entries get filled. Truly a trade of no stress and simply a matter of risking a limited amount to potentially make a whole lot more. Many new traders think that being stressed out is part of trading in the markets. The morning scans revealed some nice potential, so I decided to put some trades in motion. This morning the stock market was presenting all kinds of profitable trades. Trading action eventually picked back up again and I was able to trade for some additional profits while mitigating a losing trade.
Lets see what happens. Truly one of the great annoyances in all the stock market. Finding a stock that has awesome liquidity and volatility, and then simply trading it over and over again. Sometime, no matter how focused and ready you are, things just dont go according to plan. There were many other stocks moving, so the opening 30 minutes were very beneficial for me. Mainly because they treat the stock market as a casino. As I stated at the beginning of the video, I was feeling very good about the trading opportunities the stock market as a whole was giving, and those gut instincts turned out to be right. Thanks to some volatile action this morning I was able to make some quick scalping trades which all added up quickly.
It is what it is at this point, but no doubt about it, it sure is frustrating. IPO stock in the mid afternoon time of day. Minutes to Trade, Howd I Do? Sometimes as traders we get too trigger happy on the sell button, and as you will see, it leads to frustrating moments. Its got a variety of trades, including some options trading on AAPL. Thanks to a very active stock this morning, TSRO, there were quite a few trading opportunities available all from a single stock. Understanding technical analysis and charts are a great tool to help keep you cool and calm when price action may not go in your favor right away. Oh well, no need to hide mornings like this.
However, let it serve as a friendly reminder to never rush and always be sure you are clicking the buttons you mean to click. It was bound to happen, and it did. As you will see, I get nice entry points, however the overall trade just does not flow in my direction. How you react to them is what separates traders from wannabes. After needing to take a loss of money in premarket trading, the official day start with me being in the red and needing to dig myself out. While I didnt have any massive scores during the first 30 minutes of trading, I did have several green trades. The actual trading was profitable, and from a YouTube video perspective, I got some good footage all caught on video.
What is the secret to trading? Due to some family plans, I decided to take half day off, which only gave me time for about 15 minutes worth of trading. In terms of variety, it all happened from some very ideal trades to trades where I was wrong to trades that were simply sloppy. Today was my first day back trading after a week long vacation, and as I explain in the video, my mind was just a bit fuzzy. In other words, to have the best chance at success, it all starts with taking a loss of money. The most important thing in trading is controlling risk. GPRO trade didnt quite go according to plan, but thanks to charts and having a plan of action, I was able to remain calm throughout the trade. Partial fills, nailing the bottom, but not getting shares, and then a good old fashioned mess up on my part.
Truly the best place to be in for a trader. With the proper risk control strategies however, even if you lose, you can still put yourself in a position to be in the profit when all the dust settles. These are the mornings I love. Profits in 6 Minutes, Use a System! There was quite a bit of trade opportunities available in the market today, so I did my best to take advantage of them. It took quite a bit of patience, but I eventually found and executed a trade that I was willing to put money on the line for. Give the video a watch. While todays trading did not start out like the previous two morning sessions, I was still able to pull some profits out of the market. As this video shows, not only is it important to keep your loses small from a monetary standpoint, it is also very important from the time value of money perspective.
It was a slower Summer morning, but the market still gave some opportunities. There is no better way to start a Monday morning than have your first minute and a half unfold as you will see. Thanks to an options trade that didnt work out due to the pure bloodshed around the markets, I started off in quite a hole on this morning. Despite the market having a very active open, I was not able to capture as much profit as I wanted to. This is exactly what happened to me here. Just monitoring the technical charts for worthwhile opportunities. Depending on how long you have been trading, you can relate to this: you have nice orders in smart placement, but just cant get filled.
Unfortunatley, from a technology perspective, there were some hiccups so all that was caught on video was first 10 minutes of the trading day. Playing the overall trends and being both bearish and bullished biased proved to help get me off to a good start.
